What "Day 2" Means: How a Life Coach Helps Women Move From Overwhelm to Confidence in Their Next Chapter
There is no escaping the chaos of life — the unexpected turns, the challenges you didn’t ask for but are now face-to-face with, and the overwhelming feeling of how to move forward. After decades of navigating changes in my relationships, career, self-identity, parenthood, and so much more, I knew it was my mission to help you do the same, which was why I became a life coach.
“Day 2” is more than a name, it’s my entire philosophy around taking back control of your life. As women, we’re expected to work through these major life transitions while still carrying the unspoken burdens of daily life. I want you to know that you don’t have to work through this alone, which is why today, I want to share:
What “Day 1” and “Day 2” are in your journey
My own personal story of reaching my ideal “Day 2”
How my life coaching services are designed to guide you into your next best chapter
Behind the Day2 Brand Name
Over a decade ago, I watched a movie called About Time. I completely fell in love with it — so much so that I’ve watched it countless times and gifted it to friends over the years. In the film, the main character, Tim, learns on his 21st birthday from his father that the men in their family can travel back in time to relive moments, and ultimately change them. The caveat is, the moments he decides to change have a ripple effect, altering future events in his life, for better or worse.
By the end of the movie, Tim learns that fighting so hard to rewrite his past didn’t end up giving him the life he wanted. He instead learns to see the beauty in the little moments, the lessons those difficult times taught him, and ultimately, how to move forward building a life he loves, embracing every moment, without trying to force his past to change.
What “Day 1” and “Day 2” Mean in Your Journey
Clearly, this movie resonated with me so deeply that I decided to become a life coach for women walking similar paths. In short, “Day 1” represents your current state, the first time you’re living through these challenges and transitions (and yes, they f*cking suck). “Day 2” shows how you’re stepping into your future: going through life with fresh eyes, slowing down, shedding the stress of yesterday, and choosing gratitude, presence, and intentionality over old habits. Now, of course this doesn’t mean that the journey will be easy, and it applies differently to every woman’s life.
Your “Day 1” (current state) may look like:
Spending every day trying to keep things afloat on the outside, while you feel like you’re drowning on the inside.
Walking through each day numb, filled with resentment, anger, and frustration over a divorce or separation.
Feeling unable to move forward through grief and unexpected loss in your family, and it’s consuming you.
Navigating (and spiraling) about what to do after a job loss, career shift, or newly-allocated responsibilities.
Entering a new chapter as a mature woman, feeling like the rug has been swept out from under you as it relates to your own identity (because let’s be real, you’ve been putting everyone else first for as long as you can remember).
Your “Day 2” (future) may look like:
The day your home finally starts feeling like your safe space again, instead of a reminder of what’s been lost.
The day you make a decision without second-guessing it, making your choices with no anticipation of answering to someone else.
The day Sunday scaries stop feeling so heavy. You’re not dreading the week ahead, but building your new foundation each week.
The day you say “no”, and don’t apologize for it. You’ve finally learned to set the boundaries that have been pulling you from yourself.
The day you start to dream again. The fog is finally starting to clear, and you’re seeing your world get bigger and better than before.
My Own Path to “Day 2”: Why I Became a Life Coach
In 2019, I made the longest move of my life: relocating to Arizona for work — a state I had never even visited before. I had the house of my dreams at the foot of a mountain and a job that felt surreal. I did all of this in my 50s, right after earning my Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Age really is just a number, right?
Suddenly, I was isolated thousands of miles away from my family and my growing number of grandchildren on the East Coast. While I loved my expanding career and the travel that came with it, I was missing out on the moments that mattered most. Flying back every chance I got left me completely exhausted. I was living in a home I loved, but I couldn’t enjoy it with the people I loved most.
While this time away had me physically isolated from my loved ones, it also brought me some of my deepest internal self reflections.
The old patterns I kept repeating in my current relationships from past hurt
The false narratives I kept telling myself about my own capabilities
The uncomfortable realities of my own decisions, and the ability to not let that control my future
The first chance in my life to truly reflect on who I am as a human, and the type of woman I want to become
Those reflections weren’t easy. Some days, taking action on building a better life for myself felt almost impossible, but on the other side of that hurt was a life better than I could have imagined. One filled with community, confidence, and a level of clarity I would have never known had I not decided to put in the work.
Day2 isn’t just life coaching in the emotional sense, but the opportunity to have a guide, partner, and advocate to help you finally take action toward building a life you love.
How My Life Coaching Helps You Reach Your “Day 2”
When you hear the term “life coach”, you probably have a thousand thoughts running through your head. “Is she really going to be able to understand my situation?”, “what if I don’t even know what the first step looks like?”, “is this worth it, or is she just going to give me the same basic advice as everyone else?”.
First, these are all completely valid questions, in fact, I want you to ask more! Think of me as a blend of your biggest cheerleader, confidant, and accountability partner. Yes, I lead with empathy in everything that I do, I know that your situation is unique, and that we are all working on our own timelines. But, I also know that just affirmations and a listening ear won’t move the needle in getting you out of your current state.
After decades in the corporate world managing transitions for Fortune 500 companies, a background in organizational leadership, and my own life experience, I am the bridge that brings you from where you are today to your ideal future.
We take the space to process.
We start small, building your confidence as you start to regain control of your situation.
We build momentum by establishing boundaries, organizing your current reality, and creating a step-by-step path to get you back in control.
We re-frame who you are, who you are becoming, and how to carry this out internally and across your relationships.
We wake up one day (after all of the incredible work you’ve put in), and your reality finally looks the way you’ve been visualizing.
You don’t have to go through this alone. Everything starts with just one conversation, and if you’re feeling called, I would love to learn more about how I can help. Book your free discovery call here!
